Getting in shape is easy. Staying in shape is a whole other challenge. With my 18 years of experience, I will gladly take you through the differences, using my personal experience as the case study. I want to share what I do, why I do it, and how I do it.
When I first started out, not having a clue what I was doing in the gym, I vividly remember having a clear and defined goal nonetheless. I not only wanted to get in shape–I wanted to stay that way. With today’s post, I want to emphasize the power of the mind. Keep in mind throughout, that achievements of the body are but one example of the power of change that is possible when you know how to activate your thoughts.
With what I am about to go over with you, you can use these laws with any pursuit before you.
It follows that the body will do whatever the mind commands it. All those years ago, I went at my body-sculpting endeavor with a clear commitment, that I would allow the mind to have complete control over this entire process. I had to hand the baton off to something bigger than my desires. For this to be successful, I had to write to my mind a set of instructions–a program if you will. Think of it as software, of the flesh & blood variety, if there were such a thing.
Herein lies how and why most people fail, not only when it comes to getting in shape and staying that way, but with other hard-to-achieve pursuits as well.
It is not enough to tell the mind to do something. You have to put in the order.
You have to give your mind something to execute. The importance of placing an order is that it establishes the groundwork of everything pertaining to your particular goal. The order is the command-control over the process itself. In this case, to place an effective order requires a program. You go in with a “clean sheet” and design precisely what you want your end result to be–the more specific you are, the better. This is all accomplished through deep and deliberate thinking on your part. Being borderline obsessive in this regard is an asset.
Use your imagination as the “dream board” you know it to be. One of the most potent powers available to you is your imagination, because you are the first and only to see something no one else can. The magnificence of this cannot be overstated. Nothing is more magical than seeing something for the first time that no one else has ever seen.
The mind loves to wrap its arms around the impossible, getting into the nitty-gritty of even the most seemingly inconsequential details when it comes to carrying out your mission. It is astonishing how much can be accomplished in a small amount of time when you focus intently on precisely what you want.
When you write a program inside your mind, you are setting a course that you absolutely will not deviate from.
To reiterate, you must be clear about this. The majority of people that want to lose weight are clear about losing weight–which is one of the major reasons why they do go on to lose it. That is what happens when the order is placed. The reason they yo-yo up and down and all-around, after their initial success, is that while they were clear about losing weight in the first place, they were never clear about keeping it off. This is the result when the order fails to be placed.
In fact, for most, that second and perhaps more crucial objective is hardly contemplated if at all. Therein lies the struggle that so many of us have with our waistlines. A program, that you yourself can engineer inside your own mind, can take care of that, and do so for a lifetime, just as it has myself. The way whereby you entrench this life changing programming code inside your mind is through writing down exactly what you want, and how you want it. When you can sit down and read through what you yourself have written, you relay to the infinitely mysterious powers of your mind what its ultimate priority is. It is when you engage in this activity repeatedly that you put in the order. More on this will follow shortly.
If you ask me why I do this, it’s because automation is key. This is why it works. Programming and automation go hand-in-hand with one another. I want to break through to you that inside yourself is the last greatest undiscovered Universe. What you have direct and unfettered access to 24/7 is infinitely mysterious, as it is the most divine creation of the most high. God never builds a stairwell leading nowhere. You can literally automate your success in life.
Your mind is a computer of the flesh.
Far too many of us go our entire lives unaware of how capable we are. We typically assign our minds remedial task work leaving it in sleep mode for the majority of our existence. We sign it up for trifling assignments such as: How to earn more money; as opposed to, How to make the world a better place.
You miss the big picture if you don’t seek the big picture.
For this paper, the big picture is staying in shape. Seek that goal with the same virulence as you do the initial weight loss and you will automate the process, so that you keep the results permanently. Certainly there will be challenges associated with changing your body–rarely does anything go as planned. In those instances when you slip off track, your mind can quickly put you back in control, provided you have done the requisite programming. By staying centered to your true objective (keeping your results permanently), your mind will auto-adjust accordingly.
Like most, when first making changes to your lifestyle, you will shoot out like fire out of a cannon because you are enthused and excited! It is a given that you are going to workout and eat a cleaner diet. As your body begins to change before your eyes and some of your expectations have been met, it’s all too easy to take your foot off the gas and turn your attention to other things.
This is where the order comes into play. The real headline of this show are the processes going on in the background. This is about paying attention to those things that are typically ignored, if, acknowledged at all. I am talking about embedding your programming code or “the kernels of your thoughts” with the request that you are NOT to stop employing those very procedures that have enabled you to make the progress you’ve made.
Whatever changes you want to make to your body–all you are really doing is following a set of instructions that take you from A to Z. This, is your program. When you are reaping the results you desire, congratulations! You have coded well. If you stop making progress, all is not lost. You just have some debugging to do. Any number of factors could be the cause for this whether it be stress related to something going on in your life, or some other kind of interference that is inhibiting you from moving forward. Not to worry because your mind will auto-adjust.
When you order yourself to do something, you can not be stopped. Have you ever been so determined to do something, that you knew there was no possible chance you could be denied? You know how it feels to experience “absolute certainty” regarding an upcoming event and what the results would be? The next time this happens, mark it down in your memory. Everything you are thinking and feeling–I want you to write it down and put it in a place where you always have access to it.
You see, there is a special pathway where all your special instructions travel in order to reach that place inside of you where your “all power” resides. This bottomless well of potential is not something I fully understand, nor can explain, but I know enough to tell you that it is there inside of you. That feeling you have in times of utmost importance where you know failure is not an option for you–this, is your well of “all power.” You have tapped directly into it.
In this paper as I have stated, I am using the body as an example. But you can affect drastic changes in any avenue you see fit. This is how much power you have. When your mind is your own, you literally have ownership of a priceless gift that will return to you in abundance whatever seeds you plant.
This is why I want you to write down as many details as you can. Do not take this as something you are doing for me–this is YOUR PATH. If this is not important enough for you to write down or at least remember to write down, I don’t know what is. When you can directly access your infinite all-power source, at will, there is nothing that you won’t be able to do. These obstacles that have always held you back will fall down like dominoes. Staying in shape, for a lifetime, will be as automatic as a blink of the eyes.
Everything I am telling you–you already know. The higher power is within you already. All I am doing is connecting you to yours. This power, is uniquely yours, given to you by someone higher than any problem that has ever stood in your path. As I wrap this up, know, that many more papers are coming, as this is something several volumes long. If you do not “get” what I am sharing, more is on the way. Understand that this paper is a brief overview at best on a subject that is several hundred pages deep. The program “writing” process itself will be explained in posts to come.
Put the order in your mind and write the program. The changes you want for yourself–no matter what they are–write them down. You are in control of this. The changes you want for yourself–do not dare delegate them to someone else. Understand, that if you do this, it will not work. You are the only one that can do this for yourself. Remember–you already know how to do all of this. Much of what we know is hidden from us. I merely want to bring your awareness of your gifts out into the light. Inside of that light, you will find your mountaintop.
