I have always wanted to go to Seychelles. And I most certainly will go! And I am going to tell YOU how YOU can go too! I am not talking about staring away at the wallpaper on your desktop, or living vicariously through your favorite travel vlogger on Instagram. You absolutely can experience your ideal. Read on, and I’ll tell you how you can book your own getaway:)
All my years of inductive reasoning have taught me some things. I want as many minds as possible to benefit from my obsessive thinking when it comes to constantly coming up with ways to help YOU get just a bit better. Life should be an adventure for you every single day. Let’s get after it with what I am about to share with you.
When was the last time you made a list? Shopping list? Priority list? To-Do list? Christmas shopping list? Surely you have done these before and each time they have served their purpose well. It could not be simpler. You merely write down whatever it is you want or need before driving or walking to the store, and before you know it, you are back home with the very items that were on that list. It’s so easy right?
Now let’s upgrade you–let’s take this to the next level.
Why haven’t you written down a shopping list for your life?
If you haven’t done this yet, there’s no time like the present. And before going into more detail, allow me to tell you why this is so critically important. You can use your own life experience as a guide in this case example.
Ever notice how when you make a list for something, you almost always come back with the item on the list? In only those cases where the item you seek is out-of-stock, or if the item in question is more expensive than you anticipated, do you not take delivery of it. Almost without exception, in all other feasible scenarios, across the board, you come home with all those items crossed off your list.
I have no problem reiterating until I am “blue in the face” this basic point as follows: ALWAYS write down what it is you want! All you have to do is the same thing you’ve always done with your grocery list, except in this case you write down all your dreams. And here’s the thing–no one will see this list except you! So if you open yourself up to this and get over yourself, telling yourself all the reasons why “this won’t work,” you will experience a literal breakthrough.
For this to really work, you really have to overcome yourself. This has nothing to do with your friends or family or any “haters” you have. Take the responsibility off the shoulders of outside circumstances and revert back to yourself. YOU are the only obstacle that can stop this from getting off the ground. IT IS YOU! If I sound like I’m screaming then maybe I am, because I too am guilty of having done all of these things. This is why I am trying to get you back on course and centered.
A lot of the problems and obstacles and circumstances which do not go our way that we blame on outside forces beyond our control really are products of our own negative thinking. This is no different. A perfect example of this is someone who will read this article in its entirety, and still fail to make themselves a shopping list for their own life.
I’m talking to YOU!
Do not be like me–the way I used to be at one time back when I was “too cool” to do hands-on exercises. If I had a dollar for every self-help book I read or video I watched where I agreed with everything that was said, yet failed to do any of the exercises or take any massive action… I would have enough $$$ stashed away to have gone to Seychelles several times over!
The difference in my life has been magical. Were this not the case, I would not tell you. What is most mysterious about all of this is that it actually works and it will work for you, but you must do it. Looking back, I really do wish I had exerted just a bit more effort and followed through with all those exercises in all of those books. I am honest enough to myself to admit that I failed myself in that regard. I do not want the same fate to befall you–hence today’s message.
Going a bit further, if you were to ask me why I never did any of those self-help exercises, well, I have an answer for that.
I had a long-held negative self-image.
I did not believe in myself. Deep down, if I had, I would have done those exercises. I learned that you can read all the self-help books in the world, yet you can still fail to truly help yourself in those times where it counts. You can do as I did and gather up all the resources of books, videos, and audio cassettes and CD’s to go along with countless books. None of that mattered for me until I began to work on my image of myself.
Your self-image is the profile picture of how you feel about yourself. We all put our best faces forward on social media profile pictures because we instinctively understand how important a first impression is. No one desires to intentionally make a bad impression. So what do we do? We put up our best! So let me ask you this:
Why not do the same for yourself to yourself for yourself?
In other words, take you best face forward, and overlay it on your personality and your mind until you sell yourself on the fact that you have everything it takes to accomplish exactly whatever it is you set out to do. That shopping list for your life I keep referring to reinforces all of these changes. Think of it as autopilot when it comes to investing for yourself.
If any of this make you feel uncomfortable, then GOOD! This post is for YOU. If you sense discomfort, a blessing is materializing for you, and you are being prepared to receive it. Getting somewhere in life is easy. Getting where you want to be is much more difficult when you have a negative opinion of yourself.
The real secret to getting what you want in life revolves around your own self-image.
If you have a very poor opinion of yourself, do you honestly believe that you will get to where you want to be? Do you see yourself enjoying your poor image? Is this you living your best life? Of course not! What you tell yourself is of all-time importance. The messages you relay back and forward to yourself–numbering in the hundreds if not thousands a day–really do determine the kind of life you will live.
If a man is what he thinks about all day long, quality assurance is something you need to prioritize with every thought you process. What if you chose to live every single day, with absolute certainty, that failure was impossible. How much better would your life be if you adopted that attitude everyday? If you have never tried that, I suggest you give that a try. Watch your life change before your very eyes.
To get you everything you’ve always wanted requires getting your self-image up to a level that is commensurate with so lofty an ambition. You cannot think this. You have to know this. There cannot be breathing room for questions and doubts and falsehoods underpinned by your own self-driven negative reinforcement.
Your lack of money is not the reason why you’ve never been to Seychelles.
I will make you over. I am not the most qualified. I do not have all the answers. And I am nowhere near perfect. Here is what I know: I will never give you anything that you can not put to immediate use, toward the betterment of your life. Work on the self is as important an undertaking as we can imagine. You have to invest in yourself daily.
I have never attended medical school. But that will not prohibit me from giving my all-out best effort when it comes to performing plastic surgery on your mind. Remember–there is nothing you cannot do. Never tell yourself, I can’t. Step-by-step and word by word, you will develop faith in your God given abilities and awaken those dormant powers slumbering inside of you, until even you, are astonished by the rendering of the gifts you have given birth to.
Vacations are nice but that is not the jewel of your crown. It is not where you go. It is who you become. I cannot wait to see who you turn out to be. Every day there needs to be that build-up of excitement, full-well knowing that everything you do today brings you closer to not only the life you want, but also the fulfillment of your ideal self.
If you find yourself “rolling out of bed,” a shopping list for your life is well overdue.
Go ahead and make your shopping list for your life. Just know, I want to be the first one to say to you, “I told you so.”
