How To Be Irreplaceable

The moment you tell yourself what you really want in life, and then proceed about doing it, you have laid the first stone on the road to being irreplaceable. And whether you realize it or not, you have just made yourself into a success.

For many of us, to be successful is to have a lot of money and a big house. When I think on how I used to think in my younger years, I shudder, in that I was operating from such a low and base frequency. What I did not know for most of my life is what the true definition of success is. The legendary motivational speaker Earl Nightingale said it best:

“Success is the progressive realization of a worthy ideal.”

The first time I read that line, my mind changed instantly. When you set a goal for yourself, and then go about realizing it, you are a success.

A success is the car wash attendant that dreams of owning his own detailing business and then goes out and does it, because that’s what he really wants to do. A success is the woman who studies hard in school to be a great schoolteacher because that’s what she really wants to do.

You see, it follows that once you set yourself on your desired path, over time and with all the experience that comes, this, is when you begin to be irreplaceable.

When you, through the sweat of your brow, realize the fruition of your worthy ideal, you are irreplaceable.

Now the best part about all this is we can all reach this standard in ourselves. We all have access to these magnificent gifts that by and large hide themselves from us, making themselves known only when we call them up to action. When you raise your standards for yourself, you bring out your best. You don’t “phone it in.” You show up and show out!

Success and irreplaceable are deeply intertwined. You cannot have one without the other. If we need a goal to pursue in order to be a success, and the raising of our standards to realize the fruition of our worthy ideal, thereby making us irreplaceable, to make all of this work, what we need is a way to keep the fires burning inside, so that all of this can be attained.

Success + Irreplaceable = YOU

This is your equation to get you where you want to be in life. As I will tell, you can be horrible with numbers and still make this work for you.

The opportunities inside your own imagination are as numerous as the sunflowers in that beautiful field.

Undoubtedly some of you out there are reading this and thinking that if we can all reach these high standards, why don’t we? Well, I’ve got an answer for that too. You see, the old expression “familiarity breeds contempt” looms large here. As a whole, far too many of us (if not the majority), place little value on our priceless gifts each of us have been inalienably endowed with. But the very same people are willing to put very high values on things that can be bought with money.

Think on it: We place values and priorities on things that can be easily replaced if lost or damaged. A great man can lose everything he has and earn it all back several times over. But the things that really count such as: Our health, our minds, our souls, our capacity to love, our ability to imagine, our love of family and country–these blessings can never be replaced.

I’ll give one example and refer you to your very own imagination. Take a good look around and look at everything that you see. No matter where you are, everything that you see is the product of someone else’s imagination. If you look at something as seemingly inconsequential as a car motoring by you on the interstate, every single component that you see and don’t see was first imagined by somebody else.

You have complete unfettered access to the infinite powers of your very own mind. In essence, your greatest discoveries are teeming inside of you right now. You can assign the largest most monumental tasks to yourself, and your mind can design ways to extinguish all obstacles that cross your path. The reason so few of us take advantage of our advantages is that we generally assign our minds very trivial almost trifling problems to solve. As a result, the majority of us go our entire lives never truly seeing what we are capable of.

Your mind is the last great undiscovered Universe.

That irreplaceable potential is there inside you. You sit at the controls of something as mysterious as it is powerful. It has the power to return to you in magnificent abundance whatever you plant inside of it and direct it to accomplish. When things finally “click,” and you realize that you sit at the controls of an irreplaceable power, your fire will never stop burning.

You will know that there is nothing you cannot do. You know this truth to be fact and so do I. You are irreplaceable.
